 I’ve
been a writer at Sports Illustrated for more than 20 years,
covering dozens of sports on every continent—the Tour de France,
soccer’s World Cup, all the Grand Slam tennis events, as well
as baseball, football, hockey, and the like. Basketball, however,
has been my primary beat. It’s the subject of my regular column
on si.com, The
Hoop Life, and of five of my other books.Growing up in Rochester, N.Y., I co-captained the basketball team at Brighton High School. I majored in History at Princeton before joining SI.
